Shine on!

In honor of my FAVORITE season, on this beautiful Summer Solstice, I am full of sparkle and shine!

I was inspired by a mixed media picture on Pinterest, and I made this today!  I used my homemade gesso to add crumpled tissue paper to a 12x14 board, and added this collage of color and inspiration!  I love my new permanent paint pens in white and gold ~ Bring on Summer!!! ☀️😎💛

Gratitude Board

In an effort to bring gratitude and happiness to the forefront with my family, I put up my antique hook board for my family to write down various things, silly or serious... We've had friends who've come over add to it also and it's been a fun addition to our kitchen!
And some of the cards say...

Art journal sample ~ monoprinting

I finished my art journal sample snd had it bound at Office Max... Here are a few of the pages.  I used a mix of craft acrylics, and love using metallics! I wish the bottom picture showed as much depth as you see in person on the brown page. It has layers of gold & copper...   Too much fun ~

Collage prints ~ monoprinting

I'm loving using my prints to collage pictures.  Using bits and pieces from my favorite color combinations and putting them together with clear gesso make me so happy!  I was so stoked to use my Distress Crayons from Tim Holtz, too!

I made my own clear gesso using the recipe given by Pink Poodle Crafts onYouTube found in the link below...  As much as I love love love Mod Podge, the dry & cure time of the gesso is perfect for my impatient self. I also played around with other messages for my 5th graders and a name sign for my daughter...
I love finding inexpensive and "found" ways of creating texture!  Shelf liner, bubble wrap and empty sticker sheets were used to create these textures, printed on music sheets and dictionary paper...
